Venus Baths Loop Walk, Grampians (VIC) Escape from the city and enjoy the serenity of nature at Grampions National Park. This 2.3km flat walking track begins at the Botanical Gardens gate and follows the river upstream to several naturally formed rock pools. This trail is only a 30-minute stroll, however, you will probably want to spend longer and continue on the connecting ClimateWatch Trail. The Tree Top Walk, Lamington National Park (QLD) Become one with nature and explore rainforests at new heights on the Tree Top Walk at Lamington National Park. Consisting of suspension bridges up to 16 metres above the ground, this 800m return track is free to the public to experience at your own leisure. The best time to see the birdlife is early morning or late afternoon, so be prepared for the changing weather and layer with a rugby or crew neck jumper. Pinnacles Desert View Trial, Nambung National Park (WA) Up for exploring? The Pinnacles Desert View Trail is a must when in Western Australia. Starting from the car park at the end of Pinnacles Drive, follow the navigational signs as you immerse yourself through the numerous idyllic limestone formations of the Pinnacles. This 1.5km return trial should take approximately 45 minutes to complete. Remember to protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen, sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat. Wallowa Hike Loop, Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park (SA) One of the short walks along the Heysen Trail, the Wallowa Hike Loop is a 7.6km bushwalk that takes 2-3 hours to complete. There are many interesting rock formations to look out for along the way such as the Horses Head Rock. Remember to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated as you walk. Ubirr Rock Lookout, Kakadua National Park (NT) One of Kakadu’s most famous spots, this 1 hour walk to Ubirr Rock Lookout passes several breathtaking Aboriginal art sites and leads to an incredible view of the stunning Nadab wilderness landscape and floodplain. You will want to embark on this walk in the late afternoon so you can enjoy the sunset at the lookout point. Dove Lake, Cradle Mountain (Tasmania) Take a 2.5-hour drive from Launceston and you will arrive at the famous Tasmanian destination, Cradle Mountain. The Dove Lake track is a 6km walking loop which takes you directly under the shadow of Cradle Mountain, through the tranquil rainforest and back along the lake to your starting point. As a Grade 3 track, some bushwalking experience is recommended here, so best to wear your hiking boots on this one.
